:: Tears of the Moon ::

If my life could be a song, it'd be Plumb's Real, which starts off with "Look at me, twenty-three, beautiful sight to see tonight." Which is, incidentally, my age last year. But the lyrics still apply. Do I get life half the time? I don't. I'm just struggling to get by. In the meantime, I write, I read, I observe. This journal is what it feels like.

The Eraserheads Tribute

I find it funny that the Eraserheadstribute album is now advertised as Ultraelectromagnetic, instead of Ultraelectromagneticjam, just so they can take out the Jam; since the radio station that started the compilation album is called Jam 88.3

Kitchie Nadal's rendition of Ligaya was a waste. And I loved that song.
Imago's version of Spoliarium was great. Never thought that the song can be done with a female vocal, but they did it well.
MYMP's Wag Mo Nang Itanong ought to have turned me off (given that Acoustic Is Dead), but Juris has such an incredibly clear voice that I can't help but admire their version. Can't say I would listen to the song on my own, by choice, though.
Alcohol by Radioactive Sago Project rocked. They just owned that song.
Pare Ko by Sponge Cola was a disappointment. I was hoping for an edgier sound, given that their lead vocals has such a deep voice, but it sounded flat somehow.
Francis M's version of Superproxy was surprisingly good. Just goes to show that even he can sound rock. ;) (Or I only hear his rap songs)
Tikman by Sugarfree, Alapaap by 6 Cycle Mind, and Ang Huling El Bimbo were my choice favorites of the entire list.
Some duds:
Magasin by Paolo Santos (Paolo Santos as a rule: bah)
Overdrive by Barbie Almalbis (see same reasons above)
Hard To Believe by Cueshe (come to think of it, ANYthing by the band who got so many questions about their weird name, they actually put a pronunciation guide on their first album: "Cueshe; pronounced 'kyu-shay'" DUH. We're not French, and you got the inspiration for the band name from a banana cue stick)
Hwag Kang Matakot by Orange And Lemons (see 'Cueshe' entry. And, having read the scandal involving their ripoff of The Care's Chandeliers; the band is just ruined for me.)

That being said, I admire the effort it took to get all these bands into one collaborative tribute album. If only the Eheads can come together and play one last time.. That probably ain't gonna happen, though: Ely Buendia has a new band, Buddy Zabala's with Cambio, I dunno where Marcus Adoro is, but Raymund Marasigan's getting famous with Sandwich (yeah!). But if they did come together for a concert, I'd definitely catch myself front row seats.

Some Greetings!
Hey, happy holidays to everyone! I tried texting my overseas friends (ahem!), but a couple of them had numbers that were now owned by someone else. So, here's the greetings instead:

Jan-baby: Hope you had a good one! I think your sibling has your number now?
Kim: I don't know if I ever got your number, but I sent one to someone who got mad at me, and she said her name was Kim.. If you got a weird text greeting your for the holidays it was probably me.
Lammy: For some reason even if I have your number, I can't text.. I hope you had a good holiday! (YEah, yeah, you don't celebrate Christmas, but humor me.)

Oh, and those who wondered: I stayed. Thanks for all the incredible advice.

I still work at the same place, but I got promoted and got better pay. After two weeks of doing this, though, I have to say being Manager is tiring work. *headdesk*

The Christmas Loot!

BEST Christmas gift has to be the one the sibs with the mini-planetarium globe light thing. Mom snickered when she saw the warning: "Best Used by Ages 8 and Up" Hands down, the most well-thought of gift that I've ever received thus far.

Most revealing: A Lee Pipes shirt from Ces. NOW I know why her tops are so unflattering: she gets (expensive) blouses from stores with unforgiving material. Rather than stretchable fabric that compensates, hugs curves and hides unwanted bulges, she gets clothes that don't have give on them. Ergo: love handles.

We are at P53!
I'm pleased to announce that the peso is now the STRONGEST currency in Asia. I hope someone bombs or hoses those sourgraping idiots who've cast a bad light on the government this entire time. Whoever belittled Gloria's economics background should be tied to a chariot and dragged around in full speed ala Hector.

Read this. And this.
And this. And this. They are all different links, so take time to read!

So, let's get Bayan Muna, Akbayan, the 'People's Court' and those military idiots flogged. Now na.
